Willa S. Cather Dining Complex

The Cather Dining Complex on UNL’s city campus is a central hub for student services, providing key opportunities for spacial interaction. Custom art and  wayfinding weave through three stories of classrooms, event spaces, dining, and offices. Anchoring the ground floor is a 7x10’ painting honoring the building’s namesake, while the upper floors invite students in with detailed references to UNL’s campus, the city, and the state. The third-story offices feature a custom graphic wall and signage designed as a backdrop to reception.

The University commissioned a custom painting to be the anchor piece of the new facility. Painted in oil on a birch veneer panel, the 7' x 10' artwork welcomes students with a quote by the building's namesake.
